Charlotte Anne Russell Jenkins

Charlotte Anne Russell Jenkins, 70, of Elizabethton, went home to be with her Lord, Tuesday, April 22, 2014, at Johnson City Medical Center following an extended illness.
A native of Carter County, she was a daughter of the late Herbert Russell and Edna Nidiffer Grindstaff.
Charlotte was a homemaker. She was a member of Charity Hill Free Will Baptist Church.
Ms. Jenkins was a beloved mother, grandmother and devoted friend to those who knew her.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her step-father, Ralph Grindstaff; a brother, Randy Eugene Russell; and her grandparents, Samuel Cecil and Virgie Davenport Nidiffer.
Survivors include two sons, Craig Mays and wife Jennifer, Bluff City, and Allan Mays, Kingsport; two daughters, Ladonna Estep Taylor and Freddie Taylor, Bristol, and Christina Estep and Curtis Riddle, Hampton; her grandchildren, Jessica and Ethan Mays, Kalie Estep, Devin Riddle, Lathum Estep, Savannah, Jerika, Billy, Noah, Jonah and Izzy Mays; her brothers, Charles Russell and wife Givia, Elizabethton, and Sammy Grindstaff and wife Melissa, Elizabethton; her sisters, Elaine Greene and husband Charles of North Carolina and Debbie Rayfield and husband Barry of North Carolina; her aunts, Ethel Barnett and “Dot” Oliver; several nieces and nephews; and a special friend, Ella Mae Clawson. A special “Thank You” to Crystal Kuhn, Henry and Rita Davis, the staff of Pine Ridge Health Care, the staff of the Dialysis Center, members of the Carter County EMS and nurses and physicians who attended to her during her illness.
Funeral services for Ms. Jenkins will be conducted at 2 p.m. Friday, April 25, at Charity Hill Free Will Baptist Church with the Rev. Jerry Emert and the Rev. Bryan Smith officiating. Music will be provided by Jerry Greene. Interment will follow in the Davenport Cemetery. Pallbearers will be chosen from family and friends. The family will receive friends from 1 until 2 p.m. Friday at Charity Hill Free Will Baptist Church. Friends may also visit with the family at the residence of her daughter.
