Good Samaritan Ministries calls on community for assistance

Today is the final day to lend a hand to Good Samaritan Ministries’ summer food program.
The ministry reaches out to needy families with school-age children to provide a substantial food box for them each month during the summer.
Good Samaritan is reaching out to community partners to donate money or food items by today. All financial gifts received this month are applied to the $1,000,000 Alan Shawn Feinstein Grant as well as food items (valued at $1 per item) and pledges as long as they are obtained only for this challenge. The ministry counts on this grant to help fund the summer feeding program, and the more Feinstein money it raises, the more it receives.
“The need is greater than ever this year and the amount received so far is close to $50,000 less than last year,” said Sarah Wells, executive director.
Donations can be made online at www.goodsamjc.org, or dropped off at 100 N. Roan St.
