Classes ranging from funding to Facebook are on the agenda for May through East Tennessee State University’s Tennessee Small Business Development Center.
On the funding side, Jacqueline Merritt of the Small Business Administration will present “Financing Your Business the SBA Way” on Friday at Erwin Town Hall from 9 to 10 a.m.
The class will cover SBA loan options, including which loan program meets a specific entrepreneurial need.
The session covers the “5 Cs:” credit—character, cash flow, collateral, capitalization and conditions, in addition to an overview of all SBA loan programs. Other topics include rates, terms and participating lenders.
Other May classes take a look at how businesses can leverage the Internet to build a following.
“Pinterest for Small Businesses,” scheduled for 9 a.m. to noon on Wednesday, May 14, at the ETSU Innovation Laboratory, will provide an overview of the Pinterest photo-sharing website and establishing a presence through Pinterest.
“Introduction to Social Media” will be offered on Wednesday, May 21, from 9 a.m. to noon at the Innovation Lab.
Registration is required for each class, and the sessions are free. For class enrollment or other information, contact Teresa Shipley of the TSBDC at 439-8505 or shipleyth@etsu.edu.
