A Carter County Sheriff’s Department deputy has been suspended following a complaint of inappropriate conduct.
Carter County Sheriff Chris Mathes confirmed on Tuesday that Sgt. Shane Watson has been suspended from the Department.
“I can confirm that he is on administrative leave without pay pending an internal investigation into a complaint of inappropriate conduct,” Mathes said. “The investigation stems from a complaint received from outside the department.”
Mathes said no other information is being released at this time due to the fact that the internal investigation is ongoing.
“We will hopefully know something in the next week or so on the internal investigation,” Mathes said.
