Carroll Haynes Gouge

Mr. Carroll Haynes Gouge passed from this side of life on Sunday, April 27, 2014, at Franklin Woods Community Hospital. He grew up in West Carter County. He had resided in the Pleasant Valley Community near Jonesborough for the past 40 years. Mr. Gouge retied from the Tennessee State Planning Office where he worked as a city and county planner. He was preceded in death by his mother, Flora Haynes Gouge; his father, Howard Sydney Gouge; one sister, Barbara Jean Gouge Davis; and one brother, Howard Sydney Gouge Jr.
Survivors include his loving wife of 43 years, Ramona Jean Lowe Gouge of the home; two sons, Nathan Haynes Gouge and his wife, Magen Gouge of Jonesborough; and Joshua Aaron Gouge and his wife, Jessica Gouge of Limestone; three grandchildren Elijah and Sarah Gouge; and Katherine Gouge; one sister, Rosalind Gouge Nave of Johnson City; several nieces and nephews also survive.
Receiving of friends will be held at the Pleasant Valley Church of the Brethren from 5 to 8 p.m. on Tuesday, April 29, 2014, with the funeral service to follow at 8 p.m, with Pastor Don Hilton officiating. Mr. Gouge’s last earthly remains will be interred at the Gouge Family Cemetery on Heaton Ridge Road in Roan Mountain, Tenn., on Wednesday, April 30, 2014, at 11 a.m. Those wishing to go to the cemetery may gather at the Tetrick Funeral Home at 211 North Riverside Drive in Elizabethton on Wednesday, April 30, 2014, at 10 a.m.
