Rebecca “Becky” Jean Cordell, age 54, of Roan Mountain, passed away on Thursday, May 1, 2014, in Johnson City Medical Center. Mrs. Cordell was born in Dennison, Texas, to the late Norman and Pat Morrison. She enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren.
Survivors include her children, Brian Russell, Kevin Russell and wife Paige, Keith Russell and wife Emily, Wade Cordell, Josh Cordell, Mickie Cordell, and Trenda Cordell; 15 grandchildren; several brothers and sisters and nieces and nephews also survive.
A graveside service for Mrs. Cordell will be conducted at 4 p.m. on Sunday, May 4, 2014, in the Johnson Roanview Cemetery with Rev. Dan Blevins, officiating. The family will receive friends from 2 p.m. to 3:45 p.m. in the Rhododendron Chapel at Tetrick Funeral Home of Roan Mountain, prior to the graveside service on Sunday.
