Anthony Carl Buckles, 41, of Elizabethton, passed away on Wednesday, May 21, 2014, at Sycamore Shoals Hospital.
Mr. Buckles was born in Elizabethton to Darlene Lowe Buckles and the late Carl S. Buckles. In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by his brother, Roger Buckles.
Anthony liked music and playing the guitar. He was of the Baptist Faith.
Survivors include his mother, Darlene Buckles, Elizabethton; his son, Zackary Lee Buckles, Butler; a sister, Tina Rutter and husband Lester, Elizabethton; a brother, Daniel Buckles, Elizabethton; his girlfriend, Michele Combs; nieces, Tracy E. Phillips and Taylor Byars; and his nephew, Steven Noah Phillips.
A graveside service for Mr. Buckles will be conducted at 2 p.m. Sunday, May 25, in the Buckles Cemetery with Rev. Rex Johnson officiating. Active pallbearers will be Keith Rutter, Steve Phillips, Lester Rutter and Jimmy Blevins. Those wishing to attend the service are asked to meet at the cemetery at 1:50 p.m. Sunday.
