Cloudland High School scholarship winners are honored

A number of Cloudland High School students received scholarships on May 16, and in announcing the awards, CHS Counselor Barbara Marek also noted that of the Class of 2014’s 44 graduates, 97 percent are furthering their education – and 30 will receive lottery scholarship money.
Among the scholarship winners honored were:
• Victoria Hughes, GFWC of Elizabethton Women’s Club Scholarship;
• Cierra Gouge, Roan Mountain Citizens Club Support a Student Scholarship;
• Nicholas Johnson, Carmelita Memorial Scholarship;
• Mason Carnett and Billi Potter, Farm Bureau Scholarships;
• Asley Haynes, Marsh Regional Blood Center Scholarship; and
• Cierra Gouge, Northeast Community Credit Union William L. Armstrong Award.
