Geraldine W. Pate, age 77, of Elizabethton, went to be with God on Sunday, May 25, 2014, at her residence. She was a daughter of the late Gerald and Fredia Duncan Wineinger and was born in Latonia, Ky. Geraldine was a retired RN and was a member of Unaka Baptist Church. She loved the beach and traveling.
Survivors include her husband of 54 years, Jerry Pate of the home; two children, Greg Pate and wife, Cindy, Elizabethton; and Sandra Jackson and husband, Warren, Lafollette, Tenn.; five grandsons: Robert Pate, Elizabethton; Darik Jackson, Elizabethton; Cody Jackson, Lafollette, Tenn.; Christopher Jackson, Lafollette, Tenn.; Joseph Pate, Elizabethton; one sister, Donna Pratchard, Hot Springs, Ark.; two brothers, Gerald Wineinger, Plano, Texas; and Joe Wineinger, N.C.; and several nieces and nephews.
The family will hold a Celebration of Life Service to honor Geraldine in July at Unaka Baptist Church with the burial to take place at Mountain Home National Cemetery.
The family would like to extend a special thank-you to Jack and Lois Jennings, Gary Murray, Darlene Murray, Denise with Silver Angels and the nurses and staff with Mountain States Hospice for the love and care shown to Geraldine during her illness.
