Grandfather Home for Children to host storytelling festival on June 14

Once upon a time, storytellers gathered in Banner Elk to enlighten and entertain.
Wait – we’re ahead of ourselves. Actually, Grandfather Home for Children Hayes campus in Banner Elk will host its storytelling festival on June 14 from noon to 4 p.m.
The admission is free, and the festival will include fun, food, inflatables and merchants.
The event will go on rain or shine and performances will be moved indoors in the gymnasium if weather is not conducive to outdoor fun.
Storytellers Rick Ward, Rhodyjane Meadows, Orville Hicks and Glenn Bolick will begin performing at 12:15. Also, several Grandfather Home children will also share their personal stories beginning at 3:15.
