Lois Dykes Elliott, 84, passed away Sunday, May 25, 2014, at her residence, 1306 Broad St., Elizabethton. Born in Washington County, she was a daughter of the late Cecil and Cleo Pleasant Dykes. Lois was a member of the Oak Street Baptist Church. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Carlton “Poss” Elliott, and a sister, Maxine Harr.
Survivors include a daughter, Karen Combs Young of the home; a son, Michael Carlton Elliott and wife Vicky of Baskerville, N.C.; two grandsons, Travis Combs of the home and Jeremy Elliott of Kingsport; one nephew, Timothy Harr and wife Amy, daughter Melissa of Florida; two nieces: Susan Crim and husband Gary of Kentucky; and Nancy Barriger and husband Gary, daughter Emily of Elizabethton; a very special cousin, Robert W. Pleasant of New York City; her beloved dogs: Hank, Jane, Sam and especially Baby; and her cats.
It was her wish to be cremated and no services are planned.
