Catherine Charlotte Grindstaff Hall, 86, of Elizabethton, passed away Monday, June 2, 2014, at Hermitage Health Center.
A native of Carter County, she was born July 29, 1927, to the late John and Margaret White Grindstaff.
Mrs. Hall was a homemaker. She attended New Liberty Free Will Baptist Church.
Mrs. Hall was preceded in death by her husband, Harry G. Hall; three sisters; four brothers; and a son-in-law, Raymond Oliver.
Survivors include two daughters, Peggy Oliver and Betty Horton and husband Will; a son, Rick Hall; her grandchildren, Amy Oliver, Libby Johnson and husband Jimmy, Shauntrelle Horton, Michelle Horton, Connor Hall and Cade Hall; her great-grandchildren, Myles, Eli and Domonick; and her special friend, Shirley Campbell.
Graveside services for Mrs. Hall will be conducted at 1 p.m. Wednesday, June 4, in the Mountain Home National Cemetery with the Rev. Ray Colbaugh, the Rev. Nick Colbaugh and Mr. David Clark, minister, officiating. Interment will follow the service. Active pallbearers, who are requested to assemble at the funeral home at 12:15 p.m. Wednesday, will be Will Horton, Jimmy Johnson, Timmy Hardin, Jimmy Buckles, Connor Hall and Cade Hall. Honorary pallbearers will be Terry Estep and Charles Jones. The family would like to express a special “Thank You” to the staff of Hermitage Health Center and a special “Thank You” to Shannon Carrier of Caris Health Care. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made in her memory to the New Liberty Free Will Baptist Church, 107 Peters Hollow Road, Elizabethton, TN 37643.
