Edd Harrell

Edd Harrell, 78, of Hampton, passed away on Thursday, June 26, 2014, at the James H. Quillen VA Medical Center Community Living Center.
Mr. Harrell was born in Hampton to the late John and Leccie Barnes Harrell. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Lula Harrell; five brothers, Jim, Dayton, Charlie, Bill and J.H. Harrell; three sisters, Georgia Sluder, Freddie Burrough and Juanita Harrell; and one son, J. Edward Harrell.
Mr. Harrell had worked in the construction business and attended Limestone Cove Christian Church. He was a United States Army veteran and enjoyed fishing, camping and baseball.
Survivors include one step-daughter, Polly Elizabeth Sliker and husband Russ, Rincon, Ga.; one step-granddaughter, Amanda Coleman Bryant and husband Adam, Pooler, Ga.; one step-grandson, Jeremy Coleman and wife Dana, Springfield, Ga.; his fiancée, Glenna Bennett, of the home; great-grandchildren, Garrett and Ansley Coleman; step-daughter, Kathy Padgett and husband Jim, Kingsport, Tenn.; and his special friends, Phil Shull, Hampton, Tommy and April Griffin, Darrell Moody of Georgia, Conner Berry of Georgia, and Joe Richardson of Poga. Several nieces, nephews and cousins also survive.
A memorial service for Mr. Harrell will be conducted at 7 p.m. Saturday, June 28, in the Chapel of Peace at Tetrick Funeral Home, Elizabethton, with Mr. Wayne Mottern and Mr. Paul Lane, ministers, officiating. The family will receive friends in the funeral home chapel from 6 to 7 p.m. Saturday, prior to the service, or at the home at anytime. The family will hold a private disposition at a later time.
