Florence “Flo” Brown Sykes, of Ocoee, Fla., went to be with the Lord on Sunday, June 29, 2014. She was the daughter of the late Orville and Mae Brown, of Roan Mountain, Tenn.
Flo was a graduate of Cloudland High School. She married Samuel J. “Jack” Sykes in January of 1953, in Elizabethton, Tenn. They resided in Orlando, Fla. Her husband, her parents, and her sister and brother-in-law, Bobbie and Edward Cranor, preceded Florence in death.
She is survived by her three daughters and their husbands, Terri and Frank “Johnny” Johnson of Woodbridge, Va., Debbie and Steve Larew of Oviedo, Fla., and Kathy and Charles “Chuck” Tompkins of Windermere, Fla.; one sister and brother in-law, Linda and Bill Watson of Roan Mountain, Tenn.; seven grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren, two nieces and three nephews.
