Kenneth H. Morgan, 83, of Elizabethton, passed away Wednesday, July 2, 2014, at his residence.
A native of Maryville, Tenn., he was the son of the late Grover Lee and Jane Della Long Morgan.
Mr. Morgan worked as a buyer/store manager with A&P Tea Company. He was a member of Freedom Road Baptist Church.
Mr. Morgan was a U.S. Army veteran of the Korean War. He enjoyed gardening and working outside.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Shirley Price Morgan; a brother, Ray C. Morgan; and two step-great-granddaughters, Addison Mae Nichols and Maisie Elizabeth Potter.
Survivors include two stepsons, Tim Potter and wife Melissa, Elizabethton, and Col. Norman Potter, Retired, and wife Pam, Brentwood, Tenn.; a stepdaughter, Donna Reeves and husband John, McDonough, Ga.; 11 step-grandchildren, Trent Potter and Heath Potter, both of Nashville, Tenn., Jamie Potter, Buford, Ga., Katie Marks, Hampton, Matt Smith, Josh Potter and Brooke Arnold, all of Elizabethton, Haley Spell, Lacey Nichols, Brittany Houston and John Thomas Reeves, all of McDonough, Ga.; nine stepgreat-grandchildren, Lilla Kate Potter, Brooks Potter, Hattie Rose Potter, Dylan Marks, Dawson Marks, Knox Potter, Harrison Spell, Chloe Mae Nichols and Harper Houston; a brother, Benji Morgan, Maryville; and two sisters, Bea England, Dillwyn, Va., and Dorothy Hurst, Maryville.
A service to celebrate the life of Mr. Morgan will be conducted at 2 p.m.. Sunday, July 6, in the Sunset Chapel of Hathaway-Percy Funeral and Cremation Services with Pastor Steven Davis officiating. Interment will follow the funeral service at Happy Valley Memorial Park. Active pallbearers will be selected from family and friends. Military Honors will be accorded by the Carter County Honor Guard. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. Saturday, July 5.
