Miss Tennessee Preteen National Sweetheart 2014 Kaylee Hollifield will represent Tennessee at the 2014 America’s National Teenager Scholarship Pageant July 22-28 in Nashville.
The daughter of Chris and Monica Hollifield is representing Elizabethton in a national competition for a second straight year: she earned first runner-up in last year’s Little Miss United States national competition in Washington, D.C.
The National Teenager Scholarship Pageant will consist of several days in competition, fun city events — including a Celebration Party on the famous General Jackson Showboat, a Western Party night, a Queen’s Ball Formal, a Family Game Night and a Nashville Photo Shoot. Winners will walk away with more than $40,000 in scholarships for college among many other prizes.
Kaylee has held several local titles and is a second-time state titleholder. Kaylee has been doing pageants since the age of 6 months. She is a model with Gage modeling in Knoxville and IMTA in Los Angeles.
Her platform is to help the homeless and less fortunate; one day she hopes to start a foundation to provide the homeless permanent housing. Kaylee was named Salvation Army Ambassador in December, and she recently was awarded the Presidential Community Service Award “Gold Medal” for her many hours of community service this past year.
She is an active member of First Baptist Church, Elizabethton. She is a fifth-grade student at West Side Elementary. She is a member of the Watts Showcase Dance Team and a Cyclone Cheerleader.
She will leave for competition on July 22 and will go through a week of competitions, interviews and rehearsals.
Her talent competition will be on Friday night, in which she is doing a Jazz! Acrobatic performance. The pageant will be held on Saturday and final competition and crowning will be on Sunday.
