Lorene Mae White Hudson Holder, 73, 613 S. Watauga Avenue, Elizabethton, passed away Thursday, July 17, 2014, at her residence.
A native of Johnson County, she was a daughter of the late Stanley F. and Mary Roxie Stout White. She had lived most of her life in Carter County. She was a homemaker.
Mrs. Holder was a member of the Union Baptist Church, Hampton.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her first husband, John D. Hudson; her second husband, Ray Taylor; and her third husband, Thurman Holder; three brothers, Spencer, Lonnie and David White; and a brother-in-law, Dan Smith.
Survivors include four children, Sharon Hudson Greenwell and Eddie Kinser and Michael Hudson, all of Elizabethton, Melissa Street and husband Billy and John “Benji” and Annette Hudson, all of Hampton; six grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; three sisters, Betty Smith and Peggy Chambers, both of Elizabethton, and Helen Barnette and husband Jim, Jonesborough; and a brother, Jerry White and wife Jean, Elizabethton. Several nieces and nephews also survive.
Funeral services for Mrs. Holder will be conducted at 8 p.m. Sunday, July 20, at Memorial Funeral Chapel with Dr. Danny Bright officiating. Graveside services and interment will be at 11:30 a.m. Monday, July 21, in the Mountain Home National Cemetery. Active pallbearers, who are requested to assemble at the funeral home at 10:45 a.m. Monday, will be Mark Bridgeman, Blake Adams, Eddie Kinser, Billy Street, John Gabel and Rodney Hague. Honorary pallbearers will be Mike Greenwell and Michael Hudson. The family would like to express a special “Thank You” to April Hall, the staff of ETSU Cancer Center and the staff of Mountain States Radiation Department. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home. Friends may also visit with the family at the residence. Family and friends will assemble at the funeral home at 10:45 a.m. Monday to go to the cemetery. Condolences may be e-mailed to mfc@chartertn.net.
