A birthday party and open house is planned for Saturday, Aug. 16, from 4 to 6 p.m. to celebrate the 80th birthday of Rae Daniels, Johnson City.

The celebration will be held at the Hampton Christian Church, 810 Deerfield Lane, Hampton. A birthday party was held at this same church 18 years ago to celebrate the 80th birthday of Rae’s mother, Pearl Morgan Miller. (Mrs. Miller lived to age 88).

Rae retired from Sperry Univac in 1987 and retired from Eldercare in 2009. She is still active in quilting every day and has donated numerous homemade quilts to many children’s charities around the region.

Rain Ella Morgan Hyatt Daniels (known by friends and family as Rae) invites all her friends, family, neighbors, former coworkers and quilting friends to join her on Saturday, Aug. 16, to celebrate this milestone. Instead of gifts, please bring a non-perishable food item to be donated to the food pantry.
