Sheriff’s Department Civil Service exam will be given Aug. 18 at EHS

The Civil Service Board for the Carter County Sheriff’s Department will give the Civil Service exam on Monday, Aug. 18, at 6 p.m., in the Elizabethton High School Commons Area/Cafeteria
Persons interested must be at least 21, be bondable, a U.S. citizen, be a high school graduate or possess its equivalent, possess a valid driver’s license and have never been convicted of a felony or have been dishonorably discharged from the armed forces.
The department anticipates hiring 10 correctional officers.
Applications for employment are available at The Carter County Sheriff’s Department. All applications must be completed and on file at the CCSD no later than 5 p.m., Aug. 15, in order to be eligible to sit for the written exam. Applicants must bring proof of identification the night of the Civil Service Exam. For more information, call the CCSD at 542-1846.
