A routine traffic stop led a Greeneville man down a familiar road … one he has been down 12 times before.
Eddie Len Godsey, 41, 15 Deerwood Road, Greeneville, was arrested Saturday by Carter County Sheriff’s Department Deputy Roger Brown and charged with his 13th offense of driving on a revoked license.
Brown said in his report he was on routine patrol in the Milligan area when he saw a black Chevy S-10 truck on Okolona Road approach the intersection of that road with Milligan Highway. He said the truck went through the intersection without stopping at the stop sign. He then pulled the vehicle over and identified the driver as Godsey.
“Mr. Godsey stated he did not have a drivers license but he did have an ID card,” Brown said in the report, adding he checked Godsey’s driving history. “Mr. Godsey’s license was revoked for DUI. Mr. Godsey also had 12 prior driving on revoked offenses.”
Godsey was arrested and taken to the Carter County Detention Center, where he is being held on a $3,500 bond.
