In game one of three, the Elizabethton Twins used tough-as-nails pitching and defense to beat Greeneville 4-0 at Joe O’Brien Field Wednesday night.
Throwing seven innings, Twins pitcher John Curtiss had a big night, tallying up 10 strikeouts against no walks. Curtiss only gave up two hits before he was replaced in the seventh by Twins’ Samuel Clay.
“I am usually focused on throwing well and fast, but tonight I was also thinking about my grandpa back home,” said Curtiss. “I hope he is doing well, and I wanted to do well for him.”
