Volleyball: Power-hitting Lady Cyclones look to solidify defense

Losing three solid seniors in Abbi Pierce, Summer Reece and Hannah Hulshult from last year has had Elizabethton High head volleyball coach Leslee Bradley on her toes this off-season, but with good talent returning and some additional talent coming in unexpectedly, look for the Lady Cyclones to be very competitive during the 2014 campaign.

The Lady Cyclones still have very strong powerful hitters and that is going to be a strength, plus a transfer student from New York in Janae Rangel has added depth at setter — and the Lady Cyclones look set to be solid again.

Last year Elizabethton finished fourth in the Three Rivers Conference, and the program has asserted itself as sort of the best of the rest behind the three Sullivan County powers South, East and North. In order to take that next step, holes will have to be filled.
