The Elizabethton Twins trailed by a large margin, led for a while, but the Johnson City Cardinals had the last laugh as the visitors forced a decisive game with a 10-9 outcome Monday night in the opening round of the Appalachian League playoffs.
With the decision, the Twins will host the Cardinals again today with a 7 p.m. game three, winner take all. At stake will be a spot in the Appalachian League Championship, where the victor will travel to Danville for game one Wednesday before hosting games two and three Thursday and Friday, if necessary.
Elizabethton saw Johnson City score a pair of runs in the first and then make it a 6-0 game after three innings.
