A maroon-hatted collective stood its ground and refrained from being “Knighted” on Tuesday night.
Unaka (4-0) fired out of the gate with 14 first-half points and held its composure in the second to come away with a 14-6 decision over Chuckey-Doak Middle School at Goddard Field.
“We knew this week would be important,” Unaka head coach Donald Ensor said. “Looking at the schedule, we had three games in a nine-day stretch: today’s game, against a favorite to win the league going into the season, and then another game on Thursday. It says a lot about our kids.”
