JOHNSON CITY—In one of the hardest rains this area has seen in quite sometime, the Happy Valley girls soccer team weathered the storm as well as it possibly could have.

The Lady Warriors lost 5-0 to University High in a game shortened by lightning in what was a monsoon at Civitan Park on Thursday.

While the Breast Cancer awareness “Pink Night” didn’t quite go as planned for University High with the bad weather that arrived right at match time, another thing that was maybe unexpected was how well Happy Valley battled, especially in the early moments.
