For nearly 70 minutes on Thursday evening at Brown-Childress Stadium the Elizabethton Lady Cyclones held a two-goal lead over Sullivan South — and controlled their own playoff destiny.

In the 69th minute, however, the first of two critical defensive breakdowns ignited South’s rally for a 2-2 tie. It is the second time this season that EHS (3-0-2 conference) has tied with South (4-0-2 conference) and now the conference title comes down to point differential — a category in which the Lady Cyclones trail by three goals.
