It was a ceremonious Friday night as the Elizabethton Cyclones said farewell to Dave Rider Field at Brown-Childress Stadium and Ethan Thomas was recognized as the all-time Upper East Tennessee rushing leader as he surpassed 5,500 career rushing yards.
EHS served the Happy Valley Warriors a 57-0 shutout, with Thomas racking up 196 yards rushing with three touchdowns for the night.
“Good football teams come out and take care of business,” said EHS head coach Shawn Witten. “We did what we were supposed to do. We took the next step, and in the next couple of weeks we are going to face challenges. So, we just have to make sure we continue to get better.”
