MOUNTAIN CITY—When Don Kerley threw his name in the hat for the Johnson County High School head football coaching position, there were five reasons why he wanted the job.
Kerley, who played at JCHS in the late 1980s, returned to his alma mater this year as the head coach of the Longhorns and has been able to coach five nephews.
Seniors Warren Kerley and Jake Greer along with freshmen Nathan Arnold, Will Kerley and Shane Greer plus Don’s brother, Tom Kerley, who assists Don, all make up what has become the first family of Johnson County football.
