Rosemarie “Rosie” Danner, 63, passed away July 18, 2014, in Denver, Colo. She was the daughter of the late Roby and Thelma Shankle Danner.
Rosemarie was a 1969 graduate of Elizabethton High School where she served as Student Council President and Cheerleader as well as many other activities. She graduated from Middle Tennessee State University and received her master’s in Special Education from Austin Peay State University.
Rosemarie dedicated her career to special needs students and authored several programs in Tennessee and Massachusetts which became law.
Survivors include the joys of her life, sons, Philip R. Birk and Jesse A. Birk, of Denver, Colo., and two grandsons, Kendrick and Michael Birk, and a host of family and friends.
There will be a receiving of friends and reception at the First United Methodist Church Fellowship Hall, 325 East E Street in downtown Elizabethton on Sunday, October 26. Everyone is welcome to come and share precious Rosie memories. The reception will be held from 2 until 3 p.m., with a graveside service to follow at Highland Cemetery.
