Eighty golfers and numerous volunteers gathered this past Saturday at the Elizabethton Golf Saturday to hold its 19th Annual East Tennessee Christian Home and Academy “Scott Ramsey Memorial” Golf Tournament. All the Funds raised during the event will go to help the programs of ETCHA as it helps families and children in our region, particularly girls between the ages of 10-18 who are in need of respite or reprieve.
A beautiful but cool day would serve as the backdrop for the 1 pm shotgun start; when all had settled, Marvin and Sam Pleasant took the Men’s Division with a blistering score of 55. The team of Jason and Jaxton Holly would finish in a close second with a score of 57. In the Mixed Division, the father/daughter team of Phoebe and Tom Holly took first place with a score of 64, while the team of Keith and Kara Crestinger took first place in the Junior Mixed Division with a score of 62. The Senior Division would end in a 3-way tie with the team of Gary Larson and Ray Presnell winning with the back 9 tiebreaker.
Ron Marvel, ETCHA’s Director of Development, would be quick to give thanks to all who participated. “When everything is said and done, this will be by far our most successful gold tournament. Financially speaking, we are so grateful for all of our sponsors and golfers; their generosity will go a long way as we continue to strive to carry out the mission of Growing Girls God’s Way.” In addition to Major Sponsor Ron Ramsey, corporate sponsors for this year’s tournament were Williams and Sons Construction, Dustin Jackson Edward Jones, Trinity Marble and Granite, Mike Lacy, Unicoi Christian Church, Central Community Christian Church, Boones Creek Christian Church and Highland Church of Christ.
