KNOXVILLE — Going to a more defensive approach helped keep Elizabethton close in its sectional match with Knoxville Catholic on Saturday afternoon. But playing back proved to hinder offensive play as the Lady Cyclones bowed to the Lady Irish 3-0 at Hallin Field.

Using four in the backline with a sweeper in front, the Cyclones (10-9-2) hindered the high-powered Irish attack, but made it difficult to push numbers forward and, as a result, had just one shot on goal in the match.
