Hundreds of customers in Elizabethton are without water this morning as crews are working to repair a broken water line.
Johan Coetzee, director of utilities for the City of Elizabethton, estimated between 500 and 600 customers are affected by the line break and said water service would be interrupted for several hours.
The following areas are affected: a section of Old Elizabethton Highway, Dave Buck Road, Central Community, Milligan Highway from Happy Valley Elementary School back toward Elizabethton, Powder Branch Road, Golf Course Acres and West Links. Coetzee said customers in those areas have either lost water service or are experiencing low water pressure.
Coetzee said crews are working hard to restore water service as residents are busy preparing for the Thanksgiving holiday tomorrow.
