So far, it seems the Elizabethton High School swim team is making big strides this season.

On Nov. 22, the Cyclones traveled to the Kingsport Aquatic Center to compete in the East Tennessee Classic, which featured eight other high schools — including Dobyns-Bennett and Morristown West.

While there, swimmers Kelsi McKamey, Simone Osborne, Hannah Osborne and Sydney Wright set a school record in the girls 200 freestyle, with a time of 2:01— beating the previous record by one second.
