Police raid city home; occupant faces drug charges

Police executing a search warrant at a city residence Monday found drugs and other items, leading to the arrest of the home’s occupant.
Elizabethton Police arrested Donovan Robert Turner, 32, 508 S. Roan St., Elizabethton, Monday and charged him with two counts of possession of Schedule I drugs, maintaining a dwelling where controlled substances are manufactured or sold, manufacture of a controlled substance and two counts of possession of Schedule VI drugs.
Officers of the police department executed the warrant at the home Turner rented.
During the search, officers found several containers of marijuana, multiple baggies of a brown powdery substance called “Molly,” which is a form of the street drug Ecstasy; multiple paper strips containing lysergic acid; and several containers of a dark resin preliminarily identified as “Wax,” a highly concentrated form of marijuana that is extracted from the plant.
Police also found drug paraphernalia and equipment used to manufacture Wax, the warrant said.
Police took Turner to the Carter County Detention Center, where he is being held on a $64,000 bond.
He is scheduled to appear in General Sessions Court Dec. 23.
