Cyclones top ‘Dogs at buzzer; EHS girls get job done

An opening volley of treys by senior guard Austin Cornett and a rebound slam by Tyler Nichols ignited an early 18-9 Elizabethton run, and a buzzer-beating trey by Cornett gave the Cyclones a 54-51 win over Hampton on Tuesday night at VanHuss-White Gym.
With 1:24 left in the first half junior post Conley Bowers went down to the floor hard, hitting his head and was down for several minutes before paramedics arrived to assist him.

Elizabethton 47, Hampton 29
Creating havoc defensively is Elizabethton’s stock in trade and, when applied effectively, creates offensive opportunities in bunches.
The Lady Cyclones applied that havoc on Hampton — turning the Lady Bulldogs over 15 times in a double-digit win.
