Sylvia “Faye” McAmis Smith, 77, Apple Street, Greeneville, died Thursday, April 23, 2015, at Life Care Center of Greeneville.
She was the daughter of the late Samuel Elbert and Sylvia Irene McAmis and was preceded in death by her husband, Sherman Franklin Smith; a sister and brother-in-law, Mary and Harold Grubbs; and a brother, John Hugh McAmis.
Mrs. Smith was a wife and mother and was retired. She was of the Baptist faith.
Survivors include a son and daughter-in-law, Charles E. and Dorothy Smith of Chuckey; a daughter and son-in-law, Pat and Randy Ingram of Hampton; grandchildren and spouses, Jeremy and Lea Smith, Sherman and Bel Ingram and Alex and Bethany Ingram; great-grandchildren, Cambrie, Sylar and Oliver Ingram; a twin brother and sister-in-law, Jay and Laura McAmis of Morristown; a sister and brother-in-law, Ruth and Eugene Duncan; two nieces and a nephew, Amy Malone, Lisa Dunn and Allen Grubbs; two sisters-in-law, Lois McAmis and Marie Gray; and special friends, Allen Trantham, John McAfee, Edna Rambo and Faye Dean Bright, her niece, Sue.
The funeral service will be held at 8 p.m. Sunday, April 26, at Kiser-Rose Hill Chapel with the Rev. Ronnie Baxter and the Rev. Gary Gass officiating. Interment will be at 2 p.m. Monday, April 27, at Pleasant Vale Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Allen Grubbs, Sherman Ingram, Alex Ingram, Jeremy Smith, Bobby Shelton, Buddy Tweed, Carroll Smith and Allen Trantham. The family will receive friends from 2 to 4 p.m. and from 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.
