An Elizabethton woman noticed something was missing from her car, but only after she first found something that hadn’t been there before.
The woman told Elizabethton Police Department officers that sometime while she had been at work at Sycamore Springs Assisted Living on Monday, someone had gotten into her car and stolen her phone.
How did she notice her phone was missing? An empty small pizza box had been left in the passenger seat that was not there before she went to work.
“After work, she went to her vehicle and observed an empty small pizza box on the passenger-side seat that was not hers,” EPD Cpl. James Deese wrote in the incident report. “She stated she then noticed her LG smart phone was missing.”
No signs of physical entry were found on the car, and the woman told police she thought she had locked her car doors before going to work.
The black LG phone was pre-paid and about 2 years old.
