GREENEVILLE — After a strong start, the Lady Cyclones could not keep up momentum as they fell to the Greeneville Lady Green Devils 3-1 Monday night.

In the first set, the Lady Cyclones stormed the court, besting Greeneville 25-17.

“Greeneville had a lot of unforced errors,” EHS head coach Lesley Bradlee said Monday night. “We played clean in that first set.”

Things would flip on the Cyclones, however, as Greeneville went on to best EHS in three straight sets, 25-21, 25-13 and 25-16.

“After that first set, we did the exact opposite,” Bradlee said. “We started having a lot of unforced errors.”

The Cyclones’ Chloe Hambrick led EHS offensively and defensively as she totaled eight kills and 14 digs for the night. Madyson Smith finished the night with seven kills and 18 assists.

Next up for the Lady Cyclones will be a trip to Sullivan North Wednesday, where they will take on the Lady Raiders for the first conference match of the season.

“Both teams will want to get off to a good start in the conference,” Bradlee said.
