Schaff, Brumitt keep on rolling during matches in Greeneville

Cyclones’ Christofer Schaff and Hampton’s Hanah Brumitt have done it again.

Monday, during a match at the Nolichucky View Golf Coure,  Schaff medaled for his fifth time in a row, after shooting a 36, besting South Greene’s Andrew Susong (39) by three strokes, while Hampton’s Brumitt (49) medaled for the fourth time during a match at the Baileyton Golf Course.

The Hampton boys and girls’ golf teams swept the match at Baileyton, with the Bulldogs finishing with a 185, beating Happy Valley by one stroke. Nash Eryasa (43), Nathan Norris (44), Dru Owens (47), and Gavin Hardin (51) all competed for the Bulldogs. The Lady Bulldogs were able to take the top spot with a team score of 103, while Happy Valley finished with a 107. Brumitt was helped out by her teammate Savana Weddle, who finished with a 54.

The Cyclones finished the evening in third place, with a team score of 188, behind South Greene (173) and Sullivan East (166).

Contributing to the EHS boys final score was Schaff, Zach Shiflett (40), Keelan Hall (46), and Forrest Hall (50).

On the girls side of the course, Sullivan East’s Holly Hamilton and McKayla Torbett shared the medalist spot with a 42, giving their team a 84, which was enough to finish in first in front of the Lady Cyclones (97). Both Bailey Montgomery (43) and Kayci Royston (54) were on the course for EHS.

EHS and the county teams will be on the Elizabethton Golf Course Wednesday.
