On Wednesday, Elizabethton High School junior Chris Schaff wrapped up his trip to the TSSAA Class A/AA Golf Tournament held at the Willow Brook Golf Club in Manchester, Tenn.
The junior golfer finished up, tied for 40th with a two-day total of 166, after shooting an 86 on Tuesday and an 80 on Wednesday. Schaff tied with Morgan Robinson of Houston County and Zach Smith of Marshall County.
Schaff was OK with his finish but felt he could have done better.
“I’ll take it,” he said while traveling back home Wednesday evening. “I wish would have had an 80 or an 82 on the first day, which would have put me a little lower on the scoreboard. But with it being my first year at state, I will take it.”
In team competition, Christian Academy of Knoxville took the top spot with a total of 609 – 315 in round one and 294 in round two.
In individual play, CAK’s Davis Shore finished on top with a two day total of 141, shooting a 72 on day one and a 69 on day two.
In girls’ play, CAK also took first with a total of 316, while Christ Presbyterian Academy’s Siarra Stout finished on top with a 153.
