NCCU is a part of the Share the Love campaign from Love My Credit Union and is currently in the top three for the $25,000 grand prize.
Through the campaign, NCCU could possibly win $10,000 to give to a local charity of its choice, along with an additional $15,000 grant as the grand prize winner for collecting the most votes in the contest.
NCCU has selected Assistance Resource Ministries to be the nonprofit to receive any funds won from the contest.
“Assistance Resource Ministry does so much for people,” NCCU CEO and President Kathy Campbell said. “They provide monthly food boxes, and emergency food supplies, clothing and many other forms of assistance to those in need. Think of how much $25,000 could do in the community.”
The contest runs through Dec. 24 so the days are dwindling to cast a vote to win much needed funds to help those in need in our own community.
“It is urgent that we vote to help out ARM,” Campbell said. “We only have 10 days left. It is such a simple way to help others. It only takes a few seconds and this money could help keep the heat on for a family this winter, or provide them with a meal to eat.”
The Share the Love Campaign gives credit unions the chance to share a short video showing what they do in their communities to “Share the Love.” Visitors to the Share the Love website vote for their favorite video and the one with the most votes is the winner for that month. The credit union with the most votes over the three month period from the monthly winners is selected as grand prize winner.
“We can work together to make a difference,” Campbell said.
