It was a great night for Happy Valley basketball as the Lady Warriors and Warriors both picked up non-conference wins.

The Lady Warriors were in Maryville where they faced off with Knox Karns. Led by a 25-point game from senior Kalee Johnson, Happy Valley defeated Karnes 89-35. Johnson also had nine rebounds and four steals.

The Lady Warriors (7-3, 2-0) kept up the pace through out the whole game, outscoring Karns 22-6 in the first, 20-13 in the second, 27-6 in the third and 20-8 in final frame.

Happy Valley’s Emily Whitaker followed up Johnson with 16 points, while Kaitlyn Roberts finished the night with 11.

Happy Valley 43, Marion (Va.) 35 (Boys)

The Warriors were in Virginia tonight, where they picked up a tournament win over Marion County High School (Va.)

The Warriors (9-3, 1-1) topped Marion 43-35, with Nathan Kyte leading the way with 18 points. Kyte also had four 3-pointers on the night. Austin Hicks followed up with 10 points.
