Investigators with the Elizabethton Police Department are asking for the public to help identify two suspects in an identity theft case.
On Nov. 11, the Police Department received a report of identity theft from a local resident.
“The victim received a credit card statement for a bill on an account, which the victim had not opened and had not authorized,” EPD Capt. Joy Shoun said. “During the investigation, investigators learned that this fraudulently obtained credit card was used at locations in Elizabethton and Johnson City.”
Investigators were able to obtain video from two locations where the credit card had been used and have released photos of two suspects who were seen using the card.
Anyone with information regarding the incident or information pertaining to the identity of the suspects is asked to contact the Elizabethton Police Department Criminal Investigations Division at (423) 547-6250 or (423) 297-9002.
