Friday, after a season that saw the Cloudland Highlanders football team win the Region 1-A title, head coach Brock Pittman was relieved of his coaching duties over the Cloudland football team.
“The school wants to go in a different direction at this time,” Cloudland High School principal Jonathan Fontanez said in a statement.
A new coach has not been named, and a listing for the coaching job and a non-specified teaching position will be posted in the coming weeks, said Director of Carter County Schools, Kevin Ward.
Over four years as Cloudland’s head coach, Pittman accumulated a 31-14 record.
