Monday evening, Cloudland High School officials completed the interviewing process for the open head football coaching position.
Cloudland prinicpal Lisa Benfield confirmed that there were three applicants for the position, one from out of state and two from Carter County.
After completing the interviews, school officials sent their recommendation to Director of Carter County Schools Dr. Kevin Ward. The hiring process will be completed either Thursday or Friday, after Ward reviews the recommendation and makes a decision.
The coaching position became open after former Highlander head coach Brock Pittman was relieved of his position in early January.
Pittman served as head coach at Cloudland for four years. During his last season with the Highlanders, Pittman led the team to the Region-1 A title and a playoff berth.
