Johnson leads Lady Warriors past Sullivan South

The Lady Warriors came out swinging Tuesday as they flew past Sullivan South 74-39 for a Three Rivers conference win.
Senior Kalee Johnson had another big night as she posted a game-high 24 points, while just missing a double-double with nine rebounds. Johnson was followed up by Charli Bare, who had eight points on the night.
Happy Valley had its foot on the pedal when it came out Tuesday night. After one frame, the Lady Warriors led 21-5. Johnson posted 11 of her 24 points in the first quarter, while freshman Bayley McGee chipped in with a three and a bucket.
In the second quarter, the Lady Rebels fared a little better scoring 14 points to Happy Valley’s 19. Happy Valley’s Emily Whitaker led the way for the Lady Warriors in the second frame with five points, with three coming from a trifecta. At the half, the Lady Warriors led 40-19.
The third quarter and fourth quarters saw the Lady Warriors out pace Sullivan South 17-10 in both frames.
With the win, the Lady Warriors are now 6-3 in the Three Rivers, placing them in third behind Sullivan East, who is now 7-2 after losing to Elizabethton Tuesday night. The Lady Cyclones set firmly on top with a 9-0 TRC record.
The Lady Warriors will close out their season on the road. They travel over to Hampton on Friday.

The Warriors had a rough time with the Rebels, dropping Tuesday night’s contest 53-36.
With the lost, the Warriors are now 2-7 in the TRC, while Sullivan South improves to 3-6.
The Warriors will pick things back up with a trip to Hampton on Friday.
