In July, the running back, will be making the roughly 700-mile trip to New Rochelle, N.Y., where he will compete in the Dmaxx All-American Football Game on Team Venom.

“I think it is going to be a great experience,” the 11-year-old baller said. “It is just an honor to be invited to play in such a big game.”

When selecting players for the All-American games, officials at Dmaxx sports pick players from all over country to come  and fill the ranks. Ramsey knows when he hits the field in New York that he will be facing some stiff competition.

“Im kind of nervous,” said Ramsey. “There are kids from all of over the country that are going to be there. They seem to be good.”

This will not the be first time that Ramsey has played in a big game. This past football season, Ramsey played on the Cyclones Jr. Pee Wee Black squad, a team that went 10-0 on the season and won the pee wee Super Bowl inside Citizens Bank Stadium.  During the Cyclones’ championship game, Ramsey recorded a big 40-yard touchdown to give his team a 26-0 lead heading into the fourth quarter of a game they won 34-8.

With the training he got playing the for the Cyclones Jr. Pee Wee team, Landon feels confident he will be able to hang with the players up in New York, he said.

Ramsey is not new to travelling and playing sports. The youngster  also plays travel ball in football, basketball and baseball.

Ramsey’s love for sports runs in the family. Many might know his brother, John “Boy” Ramsey, who will be a sophomore at Unaka this coming school year. John Ramsey is a tri-sport athlete, competing in football, basketball and baseball for the Unaka Rangers.

Along with the experience  of playing some of the best in the country, Ramsey will be getting some Dmaxx gear, which includes a Xenith football helmet, an All-American back pack, a game ring, and game jersey.

Ramsey’s time in New York will not only be for business. While there, Ramsey and his family plan to go to a Yankee’s game and also hit the subways in New York City as they tour the Big Apple.
