Hubert Carl Hicks, 90, of Johnson City, died Friday, July 1, 2016 in the Johnson City Medical Center.
Hubert was a native of Embreeville. He was a son of the late Noah and Sallie Lockner Hicks.
Hubert was a veteran of the US Army, having served in World War II. He worked as a school teacher.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by sisters, Bessie Lockner, Essie Hicks, Margaret Proffitt, Elsie Bowman, and Mary Riddle; brothers, Roy, Ernest, and Charles; and brothers Cecil, Vestal, Frank, and Paul, who died as children.
He is survived by his loving wife, Bonnie Kate Taylor Hicks.
The family of Hubert Hicks will receive friends from 1:00 pm to 1:45 pm Tuesday, July 5, 2016 in the Morris-Baker Dogwood Chapel. The funeral service will begin at 1:45 pm Tuesday under the direction of Rev. Thomas Bier. Following the funeral service, minister, family, and friends will go in procession to Roselawn Memory Gardens for a 3 pm committal service. The Boone Dam VFW Post 4933 will accord military honors.
