Carter County Sheriff’s Department deputies spent the evening hours of Wednesday, July 20, making arrests in connection with long term drug operations within the county. According to a press release issued by the department, the investigations began approximately eight months ago and the targeted individuals engaged in manufacture, sale, transport, and use of illegal narcotics.
While the arrests encompassed several areas within Carter County, the primary focus centered within the Roan Mountain community, where multiple complaints have been received over the recent months regarding illegal drug activity.
In the round up, 18 individuals were arrested in connection to the investigations.
Four individuals are currently still being searched by the department. Those individuals are:
* Johnny Dean Hughes, 55, 193 Willard Perks Road, Roan Mountain, is wanted for the sale of Schedule II Narcotics.
* James Stewart Townson, 42, 156 Town Road, Roan Mountain, is wanted for the sale of Schedule II narcotics.
* Eligha Joseph Hampton, 20, 149 Estep Hollow Road, Elizabethton, is wanted for the sale of Schedule IV narcotics.
* Jonathan Brian Beam, 42, 1174 Brooks Shell Road, Elk Park, N.C., is wanted for the possession of Schedule II narcotics and tampering with or fabricating evidence.

The names of the 18 arrested include:
* Amanda Susan Edwards, 35, 208 Pioneer Ave., Johnson City, was arrested on charges of initiation of a process to manufacture methamphetamine and promotion of methamphetamine manufacture.
* Chad Robert Street, 35, 235 Taylor Ave., Elizabethton, was arrested on charges for sale of Schedule II narcotics and violation of drug free school zone.
* Craig Lain Perkins, 45, 195 Willard Perkins Road., Roan Mountain, was arrested on charges for sale of Schedule II narcotics and promotion of methamphetamine manufacture.
* Tammy Kay Cox, 45,1301 Highway 143, Roan Mountain, was arrested on the charges for promotion of methamphetamine manufacture.
* Troy Christopher Shell, 56, 105 Lynwood Ave., Apt. 1, Elizabethton, was arrested on the charges for sale of Schedule II narcotics and maintaining a dwelling where narcotics are manufactured or sold.
* Thomas Jearamy Ward, 31, 252 Buck Creek Road., Roan Mountain, was arrested on the charges for sale of Schedule II Narcotics and conspiracy to manufacture methamphetamine.
* Jackie Allen Turbyfill, 45, of 147 Dolan Hollow Road., Roan Mountain, was arrested of the charge for sale of Schedule II narcotics.
* George Marvin Cook, 52, 254 Buck Creek Rd., Roan Mountain, was arrested on the charges for sale of Schedule II narcotics and conspiracy to manufacture methamphetamine.
* Michael Edward Dugger, 52, 115 Stillwater Circle, Elizabethton, was arrested on the charges for sale of Schedule II narcotics and conspiracy to manufacture methamphetamine.
* Melissa Louise Ollis, 27, 105 Hartsell Drive, Elizabethton, was arrested on the charge for sale of Schedule II narcotics.
* Dana Lee Matherly, 27, 106 Starlight Drive, Elizabethton, was arrested on the charge for sale of Schedule II narcotics.
* Mark Alan Stover, 27, 401 Peters Hollow Road, Elizabethton, was arrested on the charge for sale of Schedule II narcotics.
* David Wayne Livingston, 55, 291 Roosevelt Ave., Elizabethton, was arrested on the charge for sale of Schedule II narcotics.
* Christine Louise Matherly, 50, 115 Stillwater Circle, Elizabethton, was arrested on the charge for sale of Schedule II narcotics.
* Dustin Wade Crosswhite, 30,1128 Blue Springs Road, Elizabethton, was arrested on the charge for sale of Schedule II narcotics.
* David Keith Vandyke, 55, 227 Lovers Lane, Elizabethton, was arrested on the charge for sale of Schedule II narcotics.
* Randall Martin Davis Jr., 29, of 134 Mallard Cove Drive, Butler, was arrested on the charge for sale of Schedule IV narcotics.
* Jeffrey Alain Lethcoe, 54, 353 Reynolds Road, Elizabethton, was arrested on the charge for sale of Schedule II narcotics.
