Cloudland tops Hancock; Unaka falls to Oakdale

The Cloudland Highlanders and the Unaka Rangers both made long road trips Friday. However, both teams would come home with entirely different results.
The Highlanders (4-5, Conference 4-0) behind a 194-yard rushing performance from Noah Arnett, topped the Hancock Indians 40-8. Arnett finished the night with two touchdowns.
Cloudland’s Josh Blair also had a big night as he recorded 107 yards rushing on 11 carries while rushing for two touchdowns.
Highlander QB Preston Benfield, who left the game early due to an injury, had 21 yards rushing and a rushing touchdown. Benfield also had 59 yards passing on 4-of-7 passes. Benfield had one passing touchdown which was caught by senior Brinkley Mull on a 19-yard play.
Cloudland will travel over to Knox Catholic next week.
The Rangers fell to Oakdale 51-16. Unaka’s two touchdowns came from Blake King, while Hunter Bentley pushed in the two-points conversions.
The Rangers (1-7, Conference 1-2) will host Hancock next Thursday.
